Taper to Max!

I am taking this marathon taper entirely too far! Most people say they get antsy, they want to run too much, they want to run too fast. Nope, not me.

Sunday, the group had a long run at Salem Lake. My longest run was two weeks ago, 20 miles at Gibson Park. That was the big one for me. I am in taper mode now. I decided it wasn't worth getting up very, very early to drive to Salem Lake for a shorter run. I could sleep in and run later in the day. Well, I got the first part right. Oops!

Yesterday, I ran 4ish miles with the Chubby Beagle. A slow, comfortable pace over a few hills. I got a good sweat going and felt less guilty about Sunday's slothfulness. Today is a track workout that I can't get to because my husband is busy with school. I will be in charge of picking up the boy from football practice. No problem. CB and I will do another couple of miles together.

Here's the remainder of the week- Wednesday, rest and watch MMS football; Thursday, short run with the group; Friday and Saturday, one rest day, one run with CB day. Sunday is the last long run- an 8 miler.

I have reserved the room in Raleigh, done the 20 mile run, paid my entry fee. It's time to go!
